On Thursday How to Geek On attended Internet Summit 2009. Here are a few of the companies we had the chance to meet and a couple notes on each.

TweetMyJobs

Gary Zukowski started TweetMyJobs in January. He was kind enough to speak with me briefly about the application. TweetMyJobs allows job seekers to receive job postings on their twitter account. Companies pay a “per post” fee or yearly “all you can post” fee to tweet their jobs to job seekers. Gary says a number of companies are already using TweetMyJobs exclusively. You may have heard about them in our newsletter last week, if not, make sure to sign up so you don’t hear last next time!

Emma

Emma competes directly with local companies iContact and Bronto in the email marketing industry. Emma seeks to help clients provide value in their email communications. I had the opportunity to speak with Annie Kinnaird, Director of Business Development. I was very impressed by Annie and her staff. For the job seeker – if Nashville, TN is an option for you, this is a company you should definitely check out!

Exit Event

Intrepid Media’s latest venture is poised to be the great startup incubator of the East Coast. If your career transition leads you into starting a business, if you’re looking to work with the entrepreneurial community, check out Exit Event on twitter @exitevent.

Big thanks to everyone How to Geek On had the opportunity to meet at the summit!

Great meeting you as well Paul. It was lovely learning more about How To Geek On. If you ever find yourself in Nashville, make sure you come by the Emma office. We’d love to show you around and introduce you to the rest of the gang. If there is ever anything we can do to help you, you know where you can find us!
