How to Geek On wants to wish you a Merry Christmas! Thank you for your support during 2009. We look forward to serving you even better in 2010!

Each week I send out our newsletter. The newsletter is chuck-full of information for technical people on the job hunt. One section of it is specifically dedicated to noting companies who are hiring Software Engineers and QA engineers in the Triangle. I’ve been told this is helpful. Several people have even told me they’ve gotten interviews and jobs because this section made them aware of particular companies that are hiring.

We want to thank each of you for making How to Geek On so successful in it’s first week! We’ve had over 250 visitors so far and over 1,000 page views. We’ve made some great contacts with people going through career transitions in the IT industry. We’ve had the opportunity to start building relationships with many of you in this and related fields.

Software professionals are finding out more and more that the American workplace has changed. It’s more volatile than ever – with layoffs happening every week. Every time there is a hint of a recession IT jobs get squashed. Even when times are good, we worry that they will send our jobs overseas.
