A couple years ago, a peer asked me, “can you show me how to get a job on LinkedIn?” I spent a few minutes with her, but honestly, looking back the question was a little too overloaded to answer. I couldn’t figure out why I had such a hard time answering that question at the time. What I know now, is that its a fundamental piece in a job search. If you’ve been in your career for 10 years there are hundreds and hundreds of people you’ve worked with. Connect with as many as you can as early as you can and then keep up with them.
